DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Focuses on loosening deeper layers of muscle tissue, breaking up a scar tissue and restores muscle function; the movement is slower and pressure deeper.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE (AND COMBINED DECONGESTIVE THERAPY)

Stimulates the lymphatic system (defence system of the body) which speeds up the cleansing process, boosts immunity and decreases swelling; light and slow specific movements also induce relaxation.
Manual lymphatic drainage is a gentle treatment aimed to also prevent and reduce swelling, pain and inflammation. It's a great aid in management and speed up of recovery in pre- and post-operative care, including:

  • Joint replacement, arthroscopy
  • Cosmetic surgery
  • Post-cancer recovery
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Arthritic pain
  • Sinus problems
  • Pregnancy and post-natal care and other.

MET (MUSCLE ENERGY TECHNIQUE)

Gentle voluntary muscle contractions against resistance to relax and lengthen muscles and normalize joint motion; an active involvement from a client is necessary while the therapist provides the resistance.

MYOFASCIAL RELEASE

Releases the fascia by elongation, improves range of movement, increases blood circulation in soft tissue, reduces muscular pain and discomfort; slow stretching movement using little oil

MYOFASCIAL DRY NEEDLING

Deactivation of trigger points by inserting acupuncture needles into them, creating involuntary muscle contraction followed by muscle relaxation; only sterile one-use needles are used after area of insertion is cleaned with alcohol swab.

PREGNANCY MASSAGE

Elements of Swedish massage are incorporated to reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage and promote relaxation; deeper, more specific massage techniques can be used where persistent pain and discomfort is felt.

RELAXATION MASSAGE

Relaxes the whole or part of the body through slow, repetitive, smooth massage movements using massage oil; based on Swedish massage.

SPORTS MASSAGE

Different techniques are used to achieve the desired outcome, a good maintenance treatment during training, pre- and post- event treatment to enhance circulation, reduce muscle tension and promote rehabilitation; it tends to be deeper and more intense than relaxation massage.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Compression of hyper-sensitive points within a muscle followed by a release, and increased blood circulation into that area; active trigger points can refer pain locally and/or to distant part of the body.
