Brett Fletcher

Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

From elite sport to everyday athletes

Brett is currently physiotherapy lead for the women's programs at WA Cricket. He previously spent five seasons with Fremantle Football Club's AFLW team as Rehabilitation Coordinator and Head Physiotherapist, and was Head Physiotherapist at Perth Football Club in the WAFL. That environment demands quick, accurate decisions — when to push, when to hold, and when an athlete is genuinely ready to return.

The same thinking shapes how he works with patients at the clinic. Whether you’re chasing a season with your local club or simply want to run without your knee flaring up, the questions are the same, and so is the standard of care.

What treatment with Brett looks like

Brett’s approach is active rather than passive. Sessions start with getting the diagnosis right and explaining it in plain terms, then move into a structured exercise programme that progresses as you do. Hands-on treatment and dry needling have their place, but they support the rehabilitation rather than replace it.

His clinical interests include:

  • Sports injury rehabilitation and return to sport

  • Tendinopathy — Achilles, patellar, gluteal and rotator cuff

  • Post-operative rehabilitation, including ACL reconstruction

  • Running injuries and training load management

  • Strength and conditioning for injury prevention

  • Knee, hip, shoulder, neck and lower back pain

Alongside his degrees, Brett holds Level 1 ASCA Strength and Conditioning accreditation, dry needling certification, and Level 2 Immediate Care in Sport for pitchside emergency management.

Teaching the next generation

Brett is a Clinical Supervisor for Curtin University, mentoring physiotherapists through their Musculoskeletal and Sports Physiotherapy master’s degrees. Staying close to postgraduate teaching keeps his own practice honest — it’s difficult to supervise students without keeping pace with current evidence.

Brett Fletcher is an APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist and the owner of East Vic Park Physiotherapy. Over more than a decade in private practice and elite sport, he’s built his work around one idea: people recover better when they understand what’s happening in their body and have a clear plan to get back to what they love doing.

He completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in physiotherapy at Curtin University.
